McDonald's announces sweet new addition to menu

McDonald’s has announced a sweet new addition to its menu, which you can try before it hits stores next week.

The fast food chain and Uber Eats have teamed up to introduce the Apple Pie McFlurry.

The new dessert is a “creamy soft serve” topped with McDonald’s apple pie and caramel sauce, according to a statement from Uber Eats.

The food delivery app claims one in four McDonald’s Apple Pies ordered via Uber Eats are purchased with a sundae.

However, it’s only available via Uber Eats until September 4 before it’s launched countrywide in restaurants.

And you’d better be quick – the sweet treats will only be available until October 16.

Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced an All Day Menu accessible around the clock including Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, cheeseburger and chicken McNuggets in restaurants around the country.

Previously, these items were not available between 6am and 10.30am when only the breakfast menu was served.

McDonald’s Australia director of marketing Jo Feeney said the announcement followed successful trials in Victoria and South Australia.

In July, McDonald’s Canada was forced to reply to confused customers to explain why its 100 per cent Canadian beef burger, named the Aussie burger, was in fact Australian.

The burger features a brioche bun filled with egg, beet chips, processed cheese, lettuce, Barbecue sauce and Canadian beef – leaving many asking what makes it Australian?
