McDonald's serving up $1 McChicken burgers for TODAY only - here's how to get one

McDonald's has announced it will be serving up $1 McChicken burgers to celebrate the middle child of its menu for one day only.

On Thursday, July 14, Macca's restaurants across the country will be offering customers a delicious $1 deal, exclusively via the MyMacca's app.

Tim Kenward, McDonald's Marketing Director, said for one day the McChicken will receive the spotlight it deserves.

Often overshadowed by iconic Macca's burgers the Big Mac and the Cheeseburger, the McChicken features 100 per cent Australian RSPCA-approved chicken breast, cooked in a seasoned tempura coating.

Each McChicken fillet is topped with fresh, Australian-grown lettuce and Macca's classic McChicken sauce, which is served between a sesame seed bun.

"The McChicken is the middle child of the Macca's menu; often overshadowed by its equally delicious but more popular siblings the Big Mac and Cheeseburger," Mr Kenward said.

"Today, for one day only, it's all about the McChicken and rewarding our customers for their loyalty, because value means more at Macca's.

"We felt it was time to put the McChicken front and centre, giving this middle child its moment. So, for all the middle children out there, including my sister, this one's for you."

Customers will be able to score a $1 McChicken from 10:30am to 11:59pm on Thursday.

The deal is available exclusively via the MyMacca's app, with one redemption per customer, but not available via McDelivery.

McDonald's brings back two popular menu items

Last week, Macca's announced the return of a popular burger to Aussie menus, as well as a beloved snack and two decadent desserts.

Following a short hiatus from its menu, the much-requested Mighty Angus returned to Macca's from Wednesday 6 July for a limited time.

Joining the iconic burger is the fan-favourite snack, Mozzarella Sticks with Chunky Tomato Relish – also back by popular demand for a limited time only.

Meanwhile two brand new desserts were also introduced to Macca's menus: the Crème Brulée McFlurry and Crème Brulée Pie.
