Mazda issues urgent recall for three popular car models
Thousands of Mazda vehicles have been listed for recall after they were found to have a malfunction which may lead cars to unexpectedly stall.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued the recall this week, stating that 18,719 vehicles have faulty Power-Train Control Module software.
This software controls the cylinder deactivation function, with the fault meaning vehicles may lose power or stall without being able to restart.
As the ACCC explained, this increases the risk of an accident and subsequent injury.

Mazda6 (GL) - Model Years 2018-2019
Mazda CX-5 (KF) - Model Years 2018-2019
Mazda3 (BP) with 2.5 litre (PY) petrol engine - Model Year 2019
What do I do if my car is affected?
Mazda will contact affected owners, who will be advised to present their car to their Mazda dealer where the software will be reprogrammed.
This recall comes just days after the 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback was recalled for a fault which could cause loss of control of the vehicle, and could see wheels fall off.
