Maura Higgins puzzles I'm A Celebrity viewers with bug question
The star asked if a trial would involved bugs, leaving viewers wondering if she'd seen the show before
What did you miss?
Maura Higgins baffled I'm A Celebrity fans as she started panicking about whether bugs would be in a trial, with viewers asking: "Have you seen this show before?"
The Love Island star and the rest of her campmates had to tackle the Fright Bus trial in the latest episode of the ITV reality series, which took place on Higgins' 34rd birthday on Monday, 25 November. The contestants were expecting some sort of party to celebrate the star's big day but instead it was announced that they would take part in a trial, with the possibility of winning treats.
Higgins was flustered as soon as she heard, asking: "Do you think there is gonna be bugs?" It left viewers baffled, as the majority of trials on the series over the years have involved jungle critters.
What, how and why?
The campers had been speculating about whether there would be a party - and possibly even cake - but when the Fright Bus trial was announced they started to have doubts.
Clapping her hands to her face, Higgins fretted: "Oh no guys, I can't do that with the bugs!" "Oh no!" she moaned, holding her head in her hands.
Turning to her fellow contestants, she asked: "Do you think there is gonna be bugs? Do you think there is gonna be spiders?" Establishing that she would be sat next to Barry McGuigan on the bus, she asked: "Are you good with bugs Barry? I'm not!"
Her comments stunned viewers, who questioned how Higgins could be surprised at bugs being involved in a trial on the show.
“'Is there going to be bugs?' Maura babes you’re in the jungle on I'm A Celeb," one fan pointed out on X.
"I like Maura but why is she acting so surprised that there will be bugs in a challenge when she’s on this show, what did she expect," asked one viewer. "Maura it’s I’m A Celeb what did you expect?" asked another confused fan.
One posted: “'Do you think there are going to be bugs?' Maura have you seen this show before?" "You can expect spiders, bugs, rats the lot, Maura," someone else wrote.

"Kinda surprised at how much Maura is freaking out, thought she’d boss a trial," remarked another viewer.
What happened on the Fright Bus?
As the celebs clambered abroad the Fright Bus they were told that they could each win a piece of luggage each from the rack, which contained holiday essentials and treats.
To do so they had to work within their rows of three to escape it, working from the front of the bus to the back, where Higgins was sat. Once a team of three passed their row’s challenge, they could get off.
Viewers were gripped by the tense challenge but only a few seconds aired, showing critters covering some of the screaming passengers.
The show then ended, with hosts Ant and Dec saying that what happened on the Fright Bus would be shown in Tuesday’s instalment from the Aussie jungle.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs nightly on ITV1 at 9pm, and streams on ITVX.
