Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts has said he is “distraught” after the death of his dog Rolo.
The presenter posted a message on Instagram saying that his beloved four-year-old Labradoodle had been suffering from inflamed bowel disease so was put down.
Sharing several pictures of Rolo, he wrote: “I’m sorry to have to share the unbearably sad news that Rolo has just been put to sleep.

“He had advanced inflamed bowel disease and had deteriorated rapidly.
“There was no cure and they said it was the kindest thing.”
Roberts said he was “in shock, distraught and heartbroken”.
“I loved him so much x,” he added.
The TV star, 57, had previously asked his Twitter followers for advice, saying Rolo had a tummy problem and was not eating.
He later updated fans, saying that Rolo was with the vet and having tests and that he was crossing his fingers that the problem could be diagnosed and treated.
Roberts was inundated with condolences on social media.
“So sorry for your loss,” wrote one fan, while another said: “Oh no that is such sad news, nothing can ever prepare us.”
“When we lose our fur babies it is heartbreaking,” said another. “Run free over Rainbow Bridge Rolo xx.”
“My heart goes out to you and your family,” said another.
Rolo’s death comes less than a year after Roberts lost his Golden Retriever, Mylo.
He tweeted last August: “Such an unbearably sad day. Mylo, my 14 year old Golden Retriever has recently suffered two strokes, and on the advice of the vet he's just been put to sleep. If you've ever lost a pet you'll know how I feel right now. Heartbroken.
"Rest in peace my faithful friend.”
