MAFS UK bride furious as groom mistakes her sister for his new wife
MAFS groom Nathan mistook bride Lacey's twin Paige for his new wife-to-be.
What did you miss?
Married At First Sight groom Nathan got off to an awkward start when he mistook his bride's twin for his wife-to-be.
Office manager Lacey, 27, from Hertfordshire was matched with Nathan, 24, from Somerset. When he walked into the wedding Lacey's mother was delighted with how he looked and everything seemed to be going well.
But when Lacey's twin sister Paige walked down the aisle Nathan mistook her for his bride, causing an uncomfortable atmosphere with his future-in-laws from the off. Later, his bride was furious when her friends told her about the awkward moment and she confronted the groom over his mistake.
What, how, and why?
The latest series of the E4 dating show - in which couples commit to marriage from their very first blind date - has just returned for its ninth season.
Nathan was waiting at the altar when Lacey's twin sister Paige walked down the aisle alone to join her mother at the front of the ceremony, wearing pink. Nathan exclaimed: "Oh wow!" as he saw Paige. But when her family gave an awkward intake of breath he realised his mistake and asked "That's not her?" His future mother-in-law told him "No it's her twin." Nathan exclaimed: "F**k I thought that was her."
Lacey then walked down the aisle in a white wedding gown and veil. She giggled: "So was your type petite, brunette big batty girl?" He told her "Yeah. You look nice." Lacey exclaimed: "Nice?!"
She then told cameras: "Nice is was what you call your grandma. I want beautiful. Not nice."
Her mother whispered: "He thought he was marrying Paige."
Later Lacey confronted Nathan that she had been told he said "wow" when he saw Paige, but not when he saw her. Nathan told her: "I was nervous, I was really nervous. When your sister walked out I thought it was you. So naturally, I was just gonna be like, 'Oh, wow.'
"Then after I didn't know who was coming. I guess at the time I just kind of froze a little bit and I didn't know how to act. That kind of wobbled me through me a little bit. Do you know what I mean?
"You're right up my street. You're proper. I couldn't have had it any better."
