Married at First Sight's Caspar has pop at experts as he questions matching process
Caspar said he doesn't understand why he was paired with Emma
What did you miss?
Married at First Sight's Caspar has accused the show of "f******" with his life by pairing him with Emma.
The pair have tied the knot on the Channel 4 reality show but Caspar has made it clear that he doesn't feel much of a spark between them, and told Emma he wasn't into "curvy" girls. He has also repeatedly said that his bride reminds him of his sister, which he said he has struggled to get past.
Thursday's episode (26 September) focused on the first commitment ceremony, with the brides and grooms having to write down on a card whether they were going to stay or go. And during a tense chat with the show's dating experts, Caspar said he didn't get why they had been matched in the first place.
What, how and why?
Caspar and Emma were being grilled by matchmakers Paul Carrick Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas, who were going over the fact that Caspar had suggested he wasn't attracted to his wife.
Looking uncomfortable, Caspar turned his attention to the experts and questioned why the science involved in making matches had paired him up with Emma. "I am struggling at the moment with not being able to see the match process, how we have come to be sitting here on the sofa together?" he said.
"I don't understand how the process got me to Emma," he went on.
"We are so different on so many levels. I don't understand and I don't get it and it's really frustrating because this is my life you are f****** with."
However, Carrick Brunson explained that it had been found that the pair have the same "disorganised attachment style".
"It means that you exhibit a little secure, you exhibit a little anxious, you exhibit a little avoidant," he said. "There are many different measures that add up to why you not only should be together but why you are strong together."
Emma said Caspar's reaction to her was 'a shock'
During the ceremony, Emma also opened up about their honeymoon, saying that Caspar told her: "I don't find you attractive because I don't find curvy girls attractive."
She said it was "a bit of a shock" for her as she is "very confident".
"I am hardly an ogre right?" she said. "I'm a normal girl and I wear that. I'm never going to be skinny, never will be. I love a wine, love a crisp."
The experts questioned Caspar's response, and he replied: "If I lied would that have been better?"
However, by the time the ceremony ended, both Emma and Caspar had written 'Stay' on their cards as they agreed to give it another try.
