This Map Of Sunrise And Sunset Times In A World Without Daylight Savings Time Is Going Viral

Donald Trump once again voiced support for ending daylight savings time, calling it "inconvenient" and "very costly."

According to the AP, some health groups agree. The American Medical Association and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine say ending time changes and staying on standard time would benefit our health because it better matches the sun and human biology.

The Sunshine Protection Act was actually passed by the Senate in 2022, which would make daylight savings time permanent in the US. That means there would be later sunrises and sunsets during the winter months when we currently follow standard time.

Despite bipartisan support, that bill hasn't made progress in the House.

With this renewed (and random) spotlight on daylight savings time, Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane of KOCO news in Oklahoma shared what summer would look like if we stayed on standard time in cities across the US:

Boston would see sunrises in June around 4 a.m. and sunsets around 7:30 p.m.

LA would see a 4:41 sunrise and a 7:07 sunset.

And Seattle would see sunrise a little past 4 a.m., and the sun would set a little past 8.

Overall, it seems like sunrises will be SUPER early and sunsets would be slightly earlier than we're currently used to.

People have a lot of feelings about this!

It seems like it's the early risers vs. the night owls on this one, soooo I'm curious: Where do you stand?
