‘Get the demons out’: Man’s chilling admission after chasing family with axe
A man who allegedly chased his family with an axe and tried to shoot them with a bow and arrow claims he tried to kill them to "get the demons out".
On Friday, August 27, authorities received reports about a man, Johnny Carson York Jr, trying to hurt his family in Bramwell, in the US state of West Virginia.
York's parents were able to hide during the ordeal and call 911 for help.
A deputy attached to Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was en route when dispatch told him the situation at the home had escalated and the man was trying to shoot his parents with a bow and arrow, WVNS reported.
The incident happened after York was asked to put something away in the shed. Investigators were told he then threw a lighter at a man and hit members of his family with an axe.
Two victims had taken out a Domestic Violence Protective Order against York, who had also smashed a TV from the home earlier that day, but it hadn't been served yet.
York was arrested at the scene and had several charges laid against him, including malicious assault.

He offered a shocking reason as to why he needed to harm his family while he was in custody.
"I had to kill them to get the demons out," he told deputies according to WVNS.
"I feel like I have to kill everyone I see.”
According to People, York has not yet entered a plea to the charges against him.
