Man’s bizarre find on street while walking dog

A couple walking their dog flagged police down after finding a rhinoceros head left on the footpath.

Cameron Taylor was walking on Saturday evening with his girlfriend and dog when he stumbled across the rhino head on the curb in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania.

"I was disgusted," he told Pittsburg's Action News 4.

"This is my second African black rhino that I've ever seen — like head that I've seen — so it was like, I think that's a real African black rhino head."

The head was taken into police custody and is believed to be authentic and potentially more than 50 years old.

Mr Taylor said police showed him footage of a man hauling the head on a dolly and leaving it by the road.

He added that he knows rhino heads are hard to get rid of, as they are "illegal" to sell, so he assumes the man just wanted to get rid of the head quickly.

Action News 4 reported police are now trying to find the person who dumped the rhino head, how it came into his possession and the reason behind why he dumped it.
