Man's arrest leads to NSW cannabis haul

The arrest of a man allegedly found with cannabis residue on his shoes in Sydney has led to the seizure of plants worth more than $400,000.

The 26-year-old is in Department of Immigration and Border Protection custody after being caught by a drug dog at Bankstown train station on Thursday night, police say.

The next day, an elaborate hydroponic set-up with almost 140 cannabis plants was found at a home in Punchbowl.

Police did not provide more information about the links between the two cases and no one has been charged.
