Man who fell from Lime scooter dies in hospital

A man who sustained a head injury and went into cardiac arrest after falling from a Lime scooter in Brisbane has died in hospital.

A Princess Alexandra Hospital spokesperson confirmed to Yahoo News Australia the 50-year-old died on Thursday.

Paramedics had to resuscitate the man at the scene after it’s believed he tumbled down stairs in South Bank Parklands early on Wednesday morning.

It is understood he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Lime Scooters told Yahoo News Australia in a statement that they were assisting investigations into the accident.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of this incident in Brisbane, and our thoughts are with the victim and his family.

We have reached out to local authorities to support however possible and stand ready to assist in any investigation."

The death is the first involving a Lime scooter in Australia and follows a spate of reported injuries from customers while riding the motorised vehicle.
