Just minutes after he was rushed from his home of 20 years, James O'Reilly watched his belongings and memories go up in flames, as security cameras filmed it.
The Toronto Star reported Mr O’Reilly and his wife had enough time to get some clothes, before the Canadian wildfire began to tear through his home in Fort McMurray.
Shocked by the loss of memories, important documents and pets, Mr O’Reilly watched on his iPhone as the fire filled his house with smoke and burned through walls.
He mourned he loss of his two clownfish, which he was unable to save.
The ferocious wildfire has forced the evacuation of Fort McMurray.
On Sunday the fire was deemed ‘unpredictable and dangerous’ and authorities warned it was possible it could double in size.
More than 88,000 people have been evacuated, with more expected.
The cause of the blaze is unknown, however low humidity, dry conditions and strong winds have made it nearly impossible to control.
