Man suffers life-threatening injuries in stabbing

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing in Sheffield city centre, police said.

Officers were called to Earl Street at 05:05 GMT on Sunday to reports of an assault, South Yorkshire Police said.

The 29-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds believed to be life-threatening.

At 15:30 GMT the road had reopened.
