A man who allegedly stabbed an elderly Queensland woman and her son in the neck has faced court accused of attempted murder.
The 82-year-old and her 50-year-old son were attacked at their Hervey Bay home on Friday morning.
The injured pair then staggered into the street to wave down passing motorists while their alleged attacker took off in a white ute.
The 39-year-old from Lismore in NSW, who is known to the pair, was arrested a short time later and has been charged with their attempted murder.
Both mother and son have undergone extensive surgery.
The man appeared briefly at the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody ahead of his appearance again on Monday.
