A woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing her son in Sydney's east.
Police were called to a Bellevue Hill house about 1.40am on Saturday and found the 22-year-old with multiple stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene then rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition.
He has since undergone surgery and is in a stable condition.
The man's mother, 55, was arrested at the property and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with a knife seized for forensic examination.
