Man stabbed while defending woman
A man has been stabbed multiple times while trying to intervene after witnessing an alleged assault in Sydney’s southwest.
Emergency services found a man with a wound to his chest on Macquarie Street in Liverpool about 2.20am on Sunday.
Police have been told the 44-year-old was stabbed multiple times after he witnessed a man allegedly assaulting a woman inside a parked car and attempted to intervene.
It’s believed the 44-year-old wasn’t known to either the man or woman.
He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
A crime scene has been established, with specialist police examining the scene.
An investigation has been launched, with inquiries ongoing.
Police say the woman was not injured following the alleged assault.
