Man stabbed during Sydney home invasion

Two men are under police guard in hospital after a fight broke out during a Sydney home invasion.

Two alleged intruders are under police guard in hospital after a resident at the west Sydney home they broke into fought back with a knife.

Police said two men forced entry into an apartment in Girraween just after midnight on Thursday and threatened the man there with a knife.

The resident grabbed a knife and one of the intruders suffered minor stab wounds in a scuffle.

A 36-year-old man and a 54-year-old man were later arrested at Westmead Hospital, where they are being treated for minor injuries and remain under police guard.

The resident was not injured.
