A pushbike-riding thief is being sought over the brazen theft of $58,000 worth of gold chains from a Victorian jewellery store.
The man browsed the store in Werribee, in Melbourne's southwest, for about 15 minutes before the robbery on December 14, police say.
He asked a staff member if he could view a gold chain, which she handed to him.
When she unlocked a drawer to return the chain, the man reached over the counter and stole a tray of chains.
He then fled on a silver bike.
Police say he was wearing grey camouflage shorts, a dark t-shirt and a baseball cap, and is described as about 190cm tall and of medium build.
