A man accused of assaulting a security guard and nurse at a hospital in western Sydney will remain behind bars after being refused bail.
Jack Thomas Solomons, 26, was receiving treatment at Westmead Hospital on Friday morning when he allegedly punched a 40-year-old security guard in the face and arm, police said in a statement.
Solomons then approached the nurse's station and allegedly punched a 31-year-old female nurse in the back of the head, before grabbing hold of her, causing her to fall and strike her head on a door.
The nurse suffered a head injury and was treated before being transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The security guard suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Solomons was restrained before being sedated by hospital staff. He was then charged with common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and reckless wounding.
The matter was briefly mentioned at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday where he was refused bail.
He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on September 24.
