Man predicts $1 million TattsLotto score: 'I knew I'd win'

A South Melbourne man surprised everyone when he claimed he had predicted he would win the lottery after taking home Saturday’s $1 million TattsLotto prize.

The Victorian winner held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4203 on Saturday, October 30, with each winner scoring $1,205,982.96.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the lucky man admitted that he wasn’t surprised when he discovered he’d won the jackpot.

“I found out on Saturday night after the draw. It was quite late at night, so I was half asleep when I checked my ticket,” he explained.

However, the man said that he had always known he would win the lottery, so it only confirmed his suspicion.

“I just had this feeling it was going to happen, so when I saw I’d won, I wasn’t all that surprised. It just felt like my time had come,” he confessed.

After breaking the life-changing news to his friends and family, the man explained that his partner was a bit confused over his subdued reaction.

“My partner actually got up me because she said I wasn’t excited enough. But I told her it’s not that I am not excited, it’s just that I knew I was going to win one day, and I did,” said the Melbourne man.

'It's going to be a lot of fun': Winner plans world golf tour

When asked how he planned to spend his windfall, however, the man showed a lot more enthusiasm.

“I love golf, so this is going to mean more time to enjoy that,” he explained.

“I would love to play golf all around the world. So, the plan is to buy some new golf gear and plan some really nice golf tours next year.”

He also plans to invest some of his winnings, but said that the added boost is going to be “a lot of fun”.

The winning ticket was purchased at South Melbourne Lotto, where the owner Chris Wilson said the division one entry was the first he had sold since buying the outlet four years ago.

“This is the first division one winning entry I have sold since I took ownership about four years ago. It’s such a big moment for us and we want to celebrate as much as possible,” said Mr Wilson.

“We’d love to send our congratulations to our winner. It’s amazing to see one of our players win big,” he added.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4203 were 32, 16 29, 26, 30 and 4, with supplementary numbers 43 and 37.

Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4203 – two in New South Wales and one each in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 389 so far this calendar year, including 141 won by Tatts customers.
