A man who murdered his on-off girlfriend has been sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 17-and-a-half years.

Georgina Downey was strangled and left in a bathroom with a bag over her heard for almost a day.

She was found in Mathew Pickering's house on 7 May 2023.

Pickering, of Beaconsfield Street, Cadoxton, Neath Port Talbot, admitted manslaughter, but a jury at Swansea Crown Court found him guilty of murder.
