Man killed in Melbourne hit-and-run
A woman is in police custody after allegedly running down and killing a man in a Melbourne car park.
Emergency services were called to the Sunbury car park about 6.15am on Sunday and found a man in his 30s dead at the scene.
Police later arrested a woman, also aged in her 30s, who allegedly drove the car from the scene.
The Nine Network says the dead man and the arrested woman had been in a relationship for almost a decade and have two young children.
Homicide Squad detective Nick Densley told the Herald Sun the victim had suffered "a number of head injuries" and police didn't believe it was a random attack.
The newspaper also reports that a suitcase with overflowing clothes, which they say is believed to belong to the man, was dumped on the nature strip near the kindergarten car park.
Neighbours say they were woken by sirens and a police helicopter, and others said they heard screaming before the incident.
"I heard, I think, two different voices. It was harsh screaming," a teenager told the Herald Sun
"I thought people were having a bit of a rowdy session near our house with their cars."
Police are now piecing together what led to the man's death.
