Man killed in jet ski crash at old WA mine

A man has died after two jet skis collided at an abandoned iron-ore mine in the far north of WA.

The man, in his 20s, was jet skiing with a group of friends on Tuesday at the former Atlas Iron Pardoo mine site on Great Northern Highway, about 70km north of Port Hedland.

The quarry is not open to the public, police said.

At about 2pm two of the jet skis collided, severely injuring the man who died a short time later.

The other driver, a man in his 40s, was uninjured.
