A 47-year-old man has been killed by a 3.3 metre crocodile while trying to cross a river in the Northern Territory.
The man's body was recovered on Thursday night at Cahills Crossing near Kakadu National Park.
A crocodile was found nearby and was "destroyed at the scene", an NT police spokeswoman said.
The man had attempted to walk across the causeway along with two women.
The women made it across without incident but reported that their companion was missing.
His body was found about two kilometres downstream at 8.30pm.
The victim and the two women were locals to the area.
