A man has been jailed for an attack outside a north London tube station which left his victim fatally injured.

Gabriel Silvera, 20, from Pinner was sentenced by a judge at Snarebrook Crown Court to eight years for the manslaughter of Dragos Carabineanu.

The hearing on Thursday followed a guilty pleas by Silvera who admitted attacking his victim at Burnt Oak station in October 2023.

Mr Carabineanu, 46, died in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, from the injuries he sustained, the court had heard.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley leading the investigation said: “Nothing can bring Dragos back to his loved ones, however, I was pleased that Silvera’s guilty plea spared them the experience of a trial, where they would have once again heard the details of the incident that took Dragos from them. Our thoughts are with them.”

A police statement said: “Dragos, who was from Burnt Oak, remained at St Mary’s Hospital in a critical condition before he sadly died from his injuries on Wednesday, 1 November 2023.
