A man has been taken to hospital after he was assaulted in a Bristol Park, police have said.

Officers were called to Victoria Park in Bedminster at 13:50 BST, following reports that a man had been attacked.

Avon and Somerset Police said the man was taken to hospital with "serious" leg injuries.

A cordon is in place while officers carry out their enquiries. Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to come forward.
