Man extradited, charged with murder

A man has been extradited after he was charged with domestic violence murder on the NSW North Coast.

Emergency services were called to a Coffs Harbour home about 5.25pm on October 2 following concern for a woman’s welfare.

A 58-year-old woman was found with facial injuries when officers arrived at the Ocean Parade home.

She was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital for treatment; however, police were informed on October 7 that the woman had died in hospital.

A 30-year-old man had been at the property on October 2 but left before officers arrived, police were told.

A 30-year-old man was arrested about 10.10am at Park Ridge South of Brisbane on October 6 on outstanding NSW warrants.

The man appeared before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

NSW Police successfully applied for an extradition order.

Following news the woman had died in hospital, the man was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with murder (DV).
