A man is due to face court in Perth charged with murdering a 72-year-old man and trying to kill a woman in a suspected family violence incident.
The Mount Lawley man was charged on Saturday after a man was fatally injured at a Kelmscott home on Friday and a 72-year-old woman seriously injured.
"The family of Keith and Estelle would like to thank everyone for the love and support they have received," the victims' family said in a statement released by police.
"We ask that our privacy be respected during this very difficult time."
The 42-year-old accused man, who is also charged with attempting to kill the woman, is in custody and due to appear at the Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
