A man has died and a woman is in a critical condition after they were attacked by a deer in regional Victoria.
Emergency services were called to a rural address in Moyhu near Wangaratta, in the state’s northeast, after a man and woman sustained serious injuries on Wednesday morning.
It is understood the pair were attacked by a deer on their property about 8.20am.
The deer emerged from the bush and gored the man, police told the ABC.
Both residents, who suffered critical injuries, were treated at the scene by paramedics however the man died a short time later.
The woman has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries to her upper body and legs, Victoria Ambulance confirmed.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The deer was euthanised by police at the scene.
