Man dies in mobility scooter fire in Western Australia
A man has died after his mobility scooter caught fire in a park in Geraldton, Western Australia.
Passers-by were unable to save the man because of the intensity of the flames, which also destroyed the scooter.
Police were called to Spalding Park in Bluff Point just before 1 pm on Saturday, following reports that a mobility scooter was on fire.
The man was deceased on the scooter, when ambulance, fire and police services attended the scene at a footpath near the North West Coastal Highway bridge.
It is believed a faulty battery sparked the blaze.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Coroner, WA Police said in a statement.
