Man crushed to death by wall during house demolition in Victoria

A man has been crushed to death by a wall that collapsed during a house demolition in regional Victoria.

The house was being levelled in Kenworthy Place at Mt Pleasant, a Ballarat suburb, when the wall collapsed on the man about 9am on Wednesday, Victoria Police said.

The 56-year-old died at the scene.

WorkSafe is investigating.

The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to 17, one more than at the same time in 2018.
