A 65-year-old man has died while abseiling in the Wollemi National Park in the Blue Mountains in NSW.
The man was abseiling down a canyon in the Wolgan Valley, about 30 kilometres from Lithgow, when he fell onto rocks below about 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services were notified while friends gave the man CPR and first aid.
NSW Police Rescue, the Special Operations Team from NSW Ambulance and the Toll Rescue Helicopter attended.
Despite efforts to revive the man, he died at the scene.
His body will be recovered on Thursday and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
