'Ol legs are not so good': Man describes his injuries after Falls Festival stampede

A man has described how he has been left with "a few chunks missing" and will require skin grafts after being trampled in a massive crush at Victoria's Falls Festival.

Tim Hunt, 29, was one of up to 80 revellers injured in the stampede which saw 19 people taken to hospital with broken bones and other serious injuries at the festival at Lorne on December 30.

Mr Hunt has been in Geelong Hospital since then and joked in a post Facebook the next day that he almost made it through 2016 without a hospital visit.

He also said that he was ready to be wheeled back to the festival for The Rubens.

The crush began when patrons leaving a DMA's performance in the Grand Theatre to go watch London Grammar in the Arena lost their footing at about 9.50pm on Friday, according to police and festival organisers.

In response to a friend's question about what happened, Mr Hunt wrote in his Facebook post: "Got caught in the stempede at falls, the ol legs are not so good".

He said "there was no escaping" the crush.

"They just kept falling like dominoes. I don't think a lot of people realised at the time how serious it got!"

Other friends wrote that they knew as soon as they heard about the incident that he would be involved.

"I always find a way," Mr Hunt joked.

"Have to have some skin grafts and missing a few chunks.

"I'm one of the luckier ones though, there were a lot more serious injuries!"

He described the crush as "absolutely nuts" and "pretty confronting" and said he would be undergoing surgery to get "skin grafts over the wounds".

"A couple of those screws from the last accident were hanging out," he said.

He wrote that he may be stuck in Geelong for a few weeks.

Yesterday, police arrested more than 200 people for drug offences at the Field Day music festival in Sydney.

Police praised the majority of festival goers, saying the crowd was mostly well-behaved, despite all the arrests.

A 24-year-old woman, who was allegedly found with 130 ecstacy pills and more than $200,000 in cash, was charged with dealing drugs and was granted conditional bail.

Fellow Falls Festival-goer Sophie Baldock said people were screaming for their lives.

"I thought people next to me were dead," Ms Baldock wrote in a Facebook post.

"My shoes were torn off, covered in other people's blood.

"There was no medical attention on hand. Truly horrific."
