Details of horror teen stabbing emerge
A woman has told how she watched on in horror as her 16-year-old cousin was stabbed to death at a busy train station in Melbourne in broad daylight.
The relative, who did not want to be named, said she was on a different bus when she saw someone stabbing her cousin, Pasawm Lyhym, at Sunshine Station bus interchange on Thursday afternoon.
She said she didn’t see the assailant’s face but saw the knife in their hand.
“I screamed and said that’s him, that’s him (the 16-year-old),” she told the Herald Sun.
“I tried to run and get help. I didn’t want to look. It was all so fast.”
The victim attended Staughton College in Melbourne and would often visit the interchange to hang out with friends after school.
Several family members gathered at the interchange on Thursday as homocide detectives inspected the crime scene.
Emergency services were called to Station Place at about 3.45pm following reports of an injured male.
Victoria Police say the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still to be determined and the Homicide Squad will attend the scene.
The area around Sunshine train station has been taped off as crime scene investigators process the area.
Trains on the Sunbury line ran non-stop through Sunshine station at the request of police for nearly an hour.
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has mobile phone, dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact police.

Last month, a woman was slashed across the face at a takeaway shop in nearby Sunshine North.
That incident happened on April 11 after a couple ordered food at the store on Furlong Road about 7pm.
A woman collected the food at the counter before the man with her reached over and slashed the female attendant across the face with an edged weapon.
The 49-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor facial injuries.
