Man dead after being found in water at Outer Harbour Marina
A man is dead after he ended up in the water in Toronto's Outer Harbour Marina while working on a boat on Friday, police say.
Police said they received a report of a man missing in the water at about 1:25 p.m.
A Toronto Fire Services fire boat located the man, pulled him out of the water and brought him to Toronto paramedics. He was taken in life-threatening condition to hospital, where he died.
Paramedics said the man is believed to be in his 20s.
Police said they are investigating the circumstances of the man's death but there is nothing to suggest that it is criminal in nature.
Ontario's Ministry of Labour says it has been notified and that it has assigned an inspector to the case.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the worker during this difficult time," the ministry said in the email.
