Man critical after one-punch attack at pub
A man has been arrested and another man is fighting for life after an alleged one-punch assault at a pub in Sydney’s northwest.
Police were called to The Ettamogah Pub on Merriville Rd in Kellyville Ridge shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening following reports of an assault.
When officers arrived, they were told the 43-year-old man who allegedly punched the 55-year-old had fled the scene.
It’s understood the two men were known to each other, with police investigating whether the men were friends prior to the incident.
Shortly after 9am on Wednesday, police arrested the 43-year-old at a home in Glendenning.
The 55-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene, and rushed to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Ray Hadley of 2GB told listeners the 55-year-old, who he described as a “colossal person supporting sport and local businesses” was in a “very grave” condition after the alleged assault.
