Man charged with sexual assault after found hiding in wall

A man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and sexual assault after police found him hiding in a wall cavity of a home in Sydney’s west.

Police went to a home on Monfarville Road, St Marys on August 14 after receiving reports the day before of a 37-year-old woman being sexually abused on an ongoing basis by a man known to her.

Phones and several other items of interest were seized by police during a search of the property.

It’s alleged during the search a 43-year-old man had hidden in a concealed wall cavity behind a bookshelf at the home.
