A NSW Central Coast woman is fighting for life after her ex-partner allegedly strangled and beat her in a domestic violence attack.
The woman was living at an Ettalong Beach home with her young child when she was allegedly attacked by her former partner.
Lance Pearce, 34, is accused of trying to strangle the mother on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the home shortly after 7pm and they found 35-year-old Blair Dalton suffering critical injuries.
They immediately commended CPR until paramedics arrived and she was quickly taken to Gosford Hospital where she remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Mr Pearce, her ex-partner, was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with attempted murder.
Wearing a forensic suit, he made his first court appearance on Wednesday at Gosford, holding his head in his hands and crying during the brief appearance.

Friends of the victim described her as a “good Aussie girl” and attended court and are hoping the young mother pulls through.
"We're just waiting on doctors reports but the end result won't be good either way will it?
The accused did not apply for bail however it was formally refused.

He will undergo a psychiatric assessment while in custody. Ettalong beach home remains a crime scene and forensic investigators are here collecting evidence.
