A man will appear in court charged with stabbing and choking a woman in a domestic-related incident and assaulting a police officer in Sydney's south.
Emergency services were called to a unit at Mascot on Sunday night after reports a woman had been assaulted.
The 44-year-old woman was treated at the scene for stab wounds before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
A 49-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station where he allegedly hit a female constable on the head while he was getting out of the police car.
The man has been charged with reckless wounding, intentionally choking a person without consent, assault and assaulting a police officer.
NSW Police will allege in court that the man and woman - who are known to each other - were arguing when the woman was stabbed in the hand and buttocks.
Police allege the woman was also choked by the man.
He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court on Monday.
