A 24-year-old man will remain behind bars for at least another two months after allegedly stabbing another man multiple times in the back while he was walking beside a western Sydney lake.
The victim, also 24, was allegedly robbed by Brayden Warren and two other men at Woodcroft Lakes early on December 2.
NSW Police said the victim was told to lie on his stomach and was stabbed by Warren before he jumped in the lake to escape the trio.
The wounded man managed to get to a nearby takeaway restaurant where he was met by police and paramedics.
He had surgery and has been released from hospital.
Warren was arrested at a Woodcroft home on Thursday and appeared at Blacktown Local Court on Friday on charges of causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to murder and armed robbery.
He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. He will remain behind bars until at least his next court appearance on March 19.
