A man faces multiple assault charges after being arrested for Thursday's stabbing of a female jogger in Melbourne.
The 18-year-old was arrested on Thursday night after police carried out a warrant at a Gowanbrae address in the city's northwest.
He was also charged in relation to a reported sexual assault in April.
The woman suffered non-threatening injuries on Thursday morning when she was stabbed while running along a path in Gowanbrae.
The man faces charges of intentionally causing injury, stalking, assault with weapon, assault with intent to commit sexual assault and common law assault over Thursday's incident.
The April incident happened on the same path where the woman was stabbed, Victoria Police said.
Another man in his 20s was arrested about an hour after Thursday's stabbing but he was released later without charge.
The 18-year-old was remanded in custody overnight and will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
