A man has been charged after an alleged aggravated burglary in Melbourne led police to uncover a hydroponic marijuana crop in a suburban home.
A 28-year-old Truganina man has been charged with numerous offences, including aggravated burglary with a firearm, assaulting police, possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis and trespass.
The man threatened police with a handgun at a Brougham Avenue address in Wyndham Vale on Monday, before he leaped over a number of backyard fences and hid in a roof cavity.
Police arrested the man with the help of the dog squad, then searched the Brougham Avenue house and found hydroponic equipment and large bags of marijuana.
A gun was found in the yard on Monday afternoon.
The man faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
