Man charged over kidnapping, raping tourist may get home detention bail

A 52-year-old man charged with kidnapping and raping a young European tourist east of Adelaide may be granted home detention bail.

The man is listed to come before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday to consider a report on the suitability of a proposed place of residence.

The man, who can't be identified, is charged with three counts of rape and one of unlawfully detaining the 24-year-old.

It's alleged he snatched and attacked the woman east of Adelaide in February after responding to an advertisement she had posted online seeking work.

Prosecutors have indicated they will oppose bail of any kind.
