Man charged over series of sex acts on trains

A man has been charged after allegedly performing sex acts on himself while sitting next to female train passengers.

The 29-year-old was arrested from a home in North Manly, in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, following a spate of alleged indecent acts on Sydney trains.

He will face court on Wednesday charged with three counts of commit act of indecency with person 16 years or over, and wilful and obscene exposure.

Police alleged he performed a sexual act on himself while next to female commuters on three separate occasions in November 2018.

In the latest incident, a woman boarded a northbound train at Central Station on June 3, with the man boarding at Wynyard Station and taking a seat next to her.

it’s alleged the man began performing a sexual act on himself shortly after.

The man quit his inappropriate fornicating after the woman requested that he stop and move away.

She then approached a guard at Milsons Point Station and contacted police.

The man got off at North Sydney Station.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal, investigators arrested the man and took him to Manly Police Station where he was charged.

He was refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday.
