Man 'pretended to be teen's dad' before alleged rape

A Sydney man has been charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a minor after he allegedly took a 13-year-old girl to his boarding house and raped her.

Glenn Ian Morrison, 52, is accused of giving the girl a drink after meeting her at Manly on Monday, before travelling with her on public transport to a Rosebery residence in Sydney’s south.

Police say he told a member of the public the girl was his daughter but detectives allege the pair was unknown to each other.

Morrison was arrested in Rosebery on Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16 and four counts of intentionally sexually touching a child.

The man has been charged with two counts of aggravated sex assault – victim under the age of 16 years, and four counts of intentionally sexually touch child between the ages of 10 and 16.

He did not apply for bail on Friday in Central Local Court and is due to next appear in court on October 17.
