A man has been charged over a decade-long campaign of threats and harassment against state and federal MPs and councillors from the Blue Mountains.
Police allege he made false allegations of sexual assault, child sexual abuse and inappropriate relationships, and threatened others about enabling the same.
Detectives from NSW Police's Fixated Persons Investigation Unit on Wednesday arrested the 37-year-old man at Winmalee.
He's been charged with multiple counts of stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical harm, using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend, and publishing false misleading material to obtain advantage.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to face Penrith Local Court in September.
The Fixated Persons Investigation Unit is a specialist squad set up in 2017 to focus on the detection, intervention and prevention of so-called lone actor and fixated person threats across the state.
