Man charged over fatal Sydney stabbing

A 58-year-old man will face court charged with murdering a woman at a home in southwest Sydney.

The man was arrested after going to Wetherill Park Police Station on Monday night.

NSW Police officers then went to a home on Christie Street, Prairiewood, where the body of a woman was found with stab wounds.

The 62-year-old is yet to be formally identified but it's believed she was known to the man.

A crime scene has been established and the car driven by the man to Wetherill Park Police Station has been seized.

He's since been charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday.
