Man charged over 2015 Bathurst murder

A man has been charged with murder following investigations into the 2015 death of a homeless person in NSW.

Police arrested Stephen Greenfield, 38, in Bathurst about 9.15am on Monday and charged him with the murder of Reginald Mullaly, 68, who been living under a bridge in the regional city.

Mr Mullaly sustained head injuries, while the post-mortem examination revealed he had also been stabbed.

Greenfield's matter was heard on Monday before magistrate Bruce Williams at Bathurst Local Court, where bail was not applied for and formally refused.

He will face Bathurst Local Court again on Tuesday.
