Man charged with murder after suspicious death

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a man in suspicious circumstances in the NSW central west.

Emergency services were called to a home at Peak Hill, north of Parkes, just after 11am on Sunday, after concerns were raised for the welfare of the occupant.

Police and paramedics found a man's body inside the property, but he is yet to be formally identified.

Detectives have established Strike Force Hattersley to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, which is being treated as suspicious.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at Peak Hill Police Station later on Sunday and charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Monday.
